Chapter Four

What are we learning about Mary Ellen's father's personality?  What kind of man is he?  What do you think about him?  Be sure to use evidence from the text to support your thinking.

  1. We are learning that Mary Ellen`s father was a peaceable man. We know this because on page 41 the 7th full paragraph it says Father was a peaceable man who never looked for an argument. Mary Ellen`s father is very kind because he helped Mr.Grant repair a broken wagon wheel. I think he is very generous because he didn`t have to help Mr.Grant but he did. Also I would like to have him as my father because he is kind and seems very nice to his children.
