Chapter Eleven

Until this point in the story, all the Indians the Todd family had encountered had been friendly, and Father said that the Indians in this chapter were not on the warpath with the whites.  Why then, did this band of Indians harass and trouble the Todds and Grants?  Be sure to explain yourself fully.

  1. They harassed and troubled the Grants and the Todds because they wanted their animals for shelter and food because I think the band of Indians are the ones that are moving to a different place.

  4. I think that the Indians harassed the Grants and the Todds because they had horses and cattle and it said that the Indians steal horses and cattle. So they simply just wanted the horses and cattle.
