Chapter Eleven
On page 108, Mary Ellen says, "We had gone about five or six miles when Father sent John on ahead to look for a nooning place."
What do you think "nooning" means, and why do you think that?
I think nooning means to find a place to rest in the middle of the day because morning and noon are combined into one word and the word is nooning.
ReplyDeleteI also think it means resting cause in the context, it stated clearly they went a few miles without nooning so its really resting you would think.
ReplyDeleteI think it means a place to rest and have lunch because noon means afternoon and that is usually when you would have lunch.
ReplyDeleteI think that nooning means to rest during the day because some people don'y get enough sleep during the night and they want to sleep during the day.
ReplyDeleteI think nooning means a place to stay till the next day and I think nooning means that because they need to sleep.
ReplyDeleteI think a synonym for nooning could be siesta or resting. So nooning for context could mean a place to rest and to eat and drink
ReplyDeleteWhere's the period Orion?
